e39 M5 looks great, and it's a blast to drive - will go down as one of the all time best BMW's. Just drooled all over DHinkle's black one in his garage last weekend. This isn't just fanboi talk either, it's really a great ride!

If it weren't for the fact that I'd be scared of the service and repair bills, I'd buy one in a heartbeat as my DD.

Also a must see is the BMW film with Madonna, as the demanding musician in the guy ritchie directed film.

I still have the e39 M5 brochure I got when I went with my dad to order our cars (not an M5 unfortunately), but it is one of the cars that definitely did it for me then, and still does today. I will own one.

Yeah, that makes sense. Assuming that thing is as reliable as butter, you'd still be paying one third of that car's worth in insurance every year.
