E36 M3 ?
#1
I have recently been thinking about how I have always wanted an M3. The problem is that since it will probably be my only car, I would want a 4dr, the last 4dr they made was e36 (can't afford a new one!). That is good and bad news. I LOVE the look of the e36, but the problem is that being 10+ yrs old, they get high mileage and that makes me uncomforable. So I want to ask people:
1) what are your thoughts on an m3 with 100++ k on the odo?
2) What are some major maintenance issues that you have had with high mile M3s?
3) What are some of the things that you would suggest I do to the car for maintenance to get it ensure long running and perhaps to help restore a 'new' feeling to it?
4) Anyone ever drive one in the snow, with traction control, LSD, and snow tires?
5) What are things that I should look to see to make sure it is a good car?
6) Any mileage that may be better to get the car that has service record up to date because I may avoid a high dollar service (say big service at 100k, buying one with 110k).
7) Any more advice.
Thanks,
Kevin

What mileage, anything you checked specifically that wasn't wrong (i.e., known issue) before you bought it? I am thinking now is the time to get one, because soon they will all be super high milage.
