Long night with the M5

Long night with the M5
Cousins came into town for the holidays, so I took them to Miami to have some dinner. On the way back I had a little mishap. I check my tires regularly, had OEM ContiSports on the Beast, and am dumbfounded as to how this happened. I was driving 75mph on I-95, my TPMS warning light came on, so I started pulling over to check the tires. I didn't see anything in the road, didn't feel an impact, and thought it was surely just some lost tire pressure. On my way to the shoulder the car became very squirrelly, and yawed hard. Luckily it was late and the road was pretty empty, and I straightened out. Disaster averted.
A whole strip of tread block was pulverized and left a strip of rubber pebbles as my car was loaded onto the flatbed. A 4 hour ordeal but everything turned out ok. Never had to use the SOS button before!
BTW I put some Hankook Ventus V12s on the rears and I am very happy with these tires! A lot of bang for the buck. The performance so far is on par with the Contis, if not better. The shoulders are blocky and fill out the rear wheel well nicely. I have 10mm spacers all around as well.

You're right at least it was 75F. See the neon in the distance in the first pic? I could have sought shelter there if it was too cold out. I'd be very warm in there. It's the Crazy Horse Saloon strip joint.

Glad you averted Disaster! I had a front Driver tire blow on my Z06 at about 80mph, felt squirley till I got it down to around 50mph. I was coming off a bridge and had no shoulder for about an 1/8 mile and had to drive on it slowly to get out of traffic! Here was my carnbage. I had my buddy bring me one of my extra rear wheels with a drag radial on it to put on the front to get it home lol
