Long night with the M5

The tires had plenty of tread left on them... maybe a defective tire? I had asked Turner Motorsport and they told me the spacers would be fine... hmmmm.

The rear ContiSports had ~7k miles on them. Plenty of tread left.
I highly recommend Michelin PS2s if cost is not much of a concern. I believe they are the best tires out there. But on a budget you cannot beat the V12s. They are great tires and half the price of the ContiSports (which I did not care for even prior to the tire failure). The grip is better than the ContiSports, and they are far less noisy. The ride is a bit firmer as the tires are harder. Aesthetically they are better than the ContiSports because they have a squared off shoulder block and fill the wheel wells even better. I would recommend them to your bro for sure. My bro put them on his A6 4.2 and loves them as well. His car was transformed (albeit he had some all-seasons on prior which he didn't quite need in south Florida).

Glad you averted Disaster! I had a front Driver tire blow on my Z06 at about 80mph, felt squirley till I got it down to around 50mph. I was coming off a bridge and had no shoulder for about an 1/8 mile and had to drive on it slowly to get out of traffic! Here was my carnbage. I had my buddy bring me one of my extra rear wheels with a drag radial on it to put on the front to get it home lol
