1st drive in a M3

Test drove the launch car today, all I can say is, You've got to try this thing. This car loves to rev, I kept it under 5k but you can still hear it scream.
Had a chance to drive it in city traffic as well as the highway and it handles great. I can't believe how solid it felt going over railroad tracks and pot holes. This car had the 18" wheels and the ride was very comfortable. I hope the 19" wheels are similar in ride quality. There was a long sweeper leading to the on ramp and I had a chance to go thru the 1st 3 gears and then powering onto the freeway and the steering was very direct and there was like 0 lean, I think I was smiling all the way. So after 30 mins, I think this will be a great daily driver, problem is I can't take this one home.

Hot color, but it desperatly needs those 19's, the 18s look way to small!

Freier is an unknown quantity at this point
Congrats on being able to drive the new 3! How was it at lower speeds and / or lower rpm range? I read it makes good power, but only near the top of the rpm range.

Since its a new car, I didn't go beyond 5k but you are right, not a lot of grunt down low and you really have to work the gear box in the 1st 2 gears but once you shift into 3rd, it really moves. I think it would be great once its broken in and you can use the entire rev range in each gear. Its very different from Big V8 where there is lots of torque down low, This engine rewards with high revs. I'm waiting for the M-DCT, I think the combination of a high rev v8 and a Super fast shifting DCT will be great, time will tell

Nice color blue...i'll reserve my judgment until I've put one through its paces on the street and track. In person i'm mixed so far, but its not terrible looking. An 05 GT3 is much more appealing for the same money...anyways I like the way my e46 is set up and I plan to keep it for a year or two longer
