Drove the X5 m today
The local BMW dealership called us today and said that they got an X5 M in. So of course, we had to go drive it. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!!!!! By far one of the best SUV's i have driven. We are currently deciding on what color and options. Then hopefully getting ready to submit our order form for an October build. will try to post pictures and video clip of the exhaust once i figure out how i get them off my phone and on here.

the one we drove today was carbon black. but i think we are going to order either silverstone metallic, black sapphire, or Monte Carlo blue metallic. (the one in my avi is Monte Carlo Blue just an FYI)

Sorry but I had a totally different experience.
I wanted to order one to replace my ML63, but after driving it, I am not so sure.
The interior was OK, but dash was not leather like my truck, although I hear that for an extra $3800, it can be added as a factory option. Ride was Ok but no better than my ML. Handling seems crisper than my ML, but to be honest, its a truck so the ML handles good enough for me. The iDrive has a nice high resolution screen and its stereo is better than mine. However, I am not sure it's a better SUV for my purpose than my ML63. Maybe its the newness of the engine compared to the broken-in engine of my ML, but my truck seems quicker off the line by a noticeable margin. Maybe the ML is lighter?
I am going to take a look at the Cayenne Turbo S and see. I really want to like the X5 since I really like BMW's electronics. Maybe I need to drive a different one in case that particular one was too new or not tuned properly.

no the name is Monte Carlo Blue, at least that is what it says on BMW website and the PDF File we were given that have the exterior color choices, interior color choices as well as options.

Ok, where the hell are you guys test driving these M's? After reading this thread, I called the two dealerships here that I deal with and none of them have one yet.
Do you know if they are going to offer it in a 6Speed? I will definitely order one; Carbon Black and saddle interior.
