Is Nissan Poised to Kill the GT-R?

If I had the option of going for a ZR1 or any other car in that price range, The vette would be with out a doubt the last car I`d pick. The American cars are just too boring and the vette has not changed much over the years. Sure you can say the same thing about the Porsche, but at least you can tell the difference between the various models. Anyway. Only good thing about the Vette is the Engine, scrap the rest with the plastic body panels and week engineering.

@ Jetpilot718 - A GT3 RS is around $186,000 while the GTR is roughly around $115 000. So I'll take a GTR over the GTR. Far better handling and we already know that it can beat a GT3 in a one mile race. The Skyline is one of the best that outruns some of the mid priced supercars, hell it's even faster than the LFA.

The main problem is the real buyers don't want a Nissan! They prefer to pay a bit more and get a car from a famous make like Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo/BMW or whatever.
GT-R can be fast...but for those ppl with money they don't care about 0-60 times. They want something special.
If you check videos from Monaco you will see maybe 1 GT-R out of 1000 cars!
GT-R just has a massive internet fan base...but in the real world rich ppl don't give a damn about the car.

I spent a weekend driving my friends Z06 which was modified at 570hp rwhp, and it was a fast POS. I can't believe anyone would pay 90k for it new or worse 120k for a ZR1. After driving his car and coming home and driving my porsche the difference was so amazing. The built quality and look of his car is like the difference of hillbilly outfit and Donald Trumps outfit. I have also spent driving my other friends GTR.
Having experienced them, just confirms to me that there are many more important factors to consider then just 0-60 times.

Ok I understand. Just saying, it seemed like some people were arguing the price point for the performance and all I'm saying is that I disagree with that statement. Personally my step dad was just in the same situation between a Porsche and a GT-R and he chose the Porsche and I think he made the right choice. Just trying to gauge opinions.

Its really loved by people like me, some on who can not afford it and would be very grateful to have one.

Nailed it on the head, most of the people like to have the status symbols and dont really care about the preformance too much. Luckly this website does not really have too many of those people.

Guys either hate or love the GTR that I know. They all respect its performance, but the guys who hate it, complain about how the performance is delivered. For me the car feels to big, seating is too high, and I overall feel disconnected from the car as if I am hanging on for the ride. I prefer cars that I feel much more connected too and the performance is delivered in a more direct way. Thus performance numbers on paper is only part of it, much more of it is on how it feels to drive.
