S2000?

Seriously. The "proper" examples I've seen are absolutely unreal.
Someone on campus has an awesome black S2000. Carbon fiber splitter, carbon fiber rear diffuser, carbon fiber dive planes, GReddy exhaust, lowering kit, O.Z. wheels, Brembo big brake kit, and a ton of other goodies. One sick car.

+1; my thoughts exactly! I've never owned one; but one of my friend's had one and when i had my RX-7 we used to trade cars occasionally for drives and his car was just as much fun as my FD.

I also had one and it was a great car until a fairly major accident. After that, the car felt like a coffin to me so I sold it. It was very fun to drive though, especially with the proper suspension set up. The car is actually very tail happy for such a low torque car. Also, people used to steal the seats so a guy on the forums used to make locks for them, might want to look into that.

Coupé all day (or roadster in this case). Space isn't a concern when a car is as fun as an S2k, plus who needs more than 2 doors until they have a family anyways haha.

I agree. I've seen some pretty bad ones but I've also seen some pretty good ones.

Space is the car's only limitation. It also does not have any fancy tech. It's straight to the business. Not very fun in the rain or snow.
I am 6' and felt fine, but it's not spacious (drove LA-Vancouver and it was fun/fine). Trunk is small, but you can ditch the spare tire and tool kit and add at least 50% more space and save a few lbs.
All cars came in 6MT, which is still one of the best shifters made. A countersunk (lower) weighted knob makes it PERFECT.
Light, LSD, 8-9K rpm, so balanced, good quality, reliable, stylish, etc.
I am looking for a Z4M but my senses keep telling me to pick up a third S2000!
They are also so easy to dial in if you enjoy tinkering on cars. I installed a Stoptech BBK and 4.56 final drive (plus other less complicated crap) in my first car; they're so fun and easy to work on. A little suspension work and the UK-spec alignment and the car drives like a dream.
Damn, I should look for another and add a blower.

As Steve mentioned, I've had a couple of S2000s - an AP1 and an AP2. AP2 is a MUST. Personally I'd avoid 2006-on S2000s - they added traction control and seemed to dumb the suspension down a little. The edgiest ones are the 2003s - AP1, so 9000 rpm redline, plus a "sporty" suspension. My personal favorites are the 2004-2005 years. 2.2L engine, still 8400 rpm redline, better cabin, better wheels, better all around (IMO).
My first one was a 2001 and the only negative thing I experienced in 2 years and 60K miles was the rear window fogging (plastic). My 2004 was rock-solid and had a glass backlight.
I'd own one again in a heartbeat if I lived somewhere friendly for convertibles (here it's too humid or too cold 90% of the time).
