I am highly sceptical towards this time.
I don't know if this video is made by Nissan themselves or if it is some kind of car magazine testing. Either way we don't know if the car in the vid is stock with the same setup you get in a customer car. 7:24 seems like a very unrealistic time considering it's the time Sportauto managed to race the GT2RS around the Ring.
I'm waiting for Sportauto to test the new GTR before believing any other time. Too much cheating going on from the car manufacturers with lap times to believe anything.

Nissan oficially claimed something ridiculous like 7:28 or so which is obviosuly BS. Sportauto tested it and made a 7:38.
It's because of that false claim I'm so sceptical towards Nürburgring times for the GTR.

I'm with Ludas on this one

all we hear is claims when you clearly see some "mods" on some test cars that are claimed to be stock

I'll wait to hear some confirmation before believing these claims (and I AM a GTR fanboi)

I'm a GT-R fanboy too...
this is my second GT-R and i'm happier now: 2011 (2012?) is far better than first r-35... No more understeer, more feeling, noticeably faster... GT-R is the problem for me!!! I trade an M3 E92 for my first one... I tried that nissan and loved it. Not a e92s rival. GT-r was incredible...
But it is a Nissan... and my friends tell me: you have a Nissan to joke me... I'll love that Nissan forever! I'm a lucky boy, i have many cars, all to remember, but only a few to dream...
The Gt-R, when you live it, know it: is a truly incredible machine, a masterpiece!!!... and leave in you a question: how can this a Nissan?????
6 years to develope just one car. 6 years of hard work. A lab in Nurburgring....
you can see the lap times in several tracks, every time the GT-R (480) is faster than (? ) ...

Nobody says ridicolous claims from Ferrari or Porsche.

But one modded is for sure: the Driver. (and Porsche knows so well: Timo KLUCK is the answer!!!!!).

driver mod sure goes along way, but so does chassis rigidity mods, different tires, and a different alignment

not accusing anyone in particular of cheating, but it's hard to trust anyone these days

Dude has bangin' hair, but I'd still pay extra for a GT3

However, I do love that the Nurburgring lap battle lives on!

From the October 2010 edition of Automobile Magazine, page 73 from the review of the Porsche 911GT2 RS "According to Porsche Motorsports manager Andreas Preuninger, the RS was conceived nearly four year ago as a skunk-works effort. The 727 code number selected for the project corresponds to the Nissan GT-R's lap time around the Nurburgring's Nordscheleif. When the dust settled, Porsche test driver Timo Kluck had eclipsed that target by an impressive nine seconds."

It is nice to know that the GT-R was the inspiration for this new 911 GT2 RS.
