No doubt in my mind that the GT-R is a SICK beast, I had the pleasure of driving some '09's and will get to drive my friend's '12 tomorrow (I'm giving him a free ride to pick it up so he better let me take it for a spin )

enjoy your beast, and Nissan sure outdid themselves with this car, once again

wussup ashraf, i have a feeling your a buddy of mine on some suby forums

porsche guys are going to hate...its okay. i picked up my 2012 gtr last saturday...have a whole 180 mile on it now. i must say from a drivers standpoint. its faster then my 750hp viper. because there is no way you can drive a viper at its maximum like you can a gtr. i was skeptical as i've owned about everything. But man this 2012 gtr delivers the goods. Don't look at the #'s, although they are great its an all around impressive car which may not be the most pretty, but it sure will stir the pot. as it obviously is doing on this forum

not to mention its rare due to the Japan situation...what are there 50-100 2012's in the usa right now? and no more for quite a bit.

What's up Josh sir, it's been a while since we last talked

I see you picked up a couple of nice cars, and got rid of the untamed beast (SRT10)

I got so close to ordering a 2012 a couple of weeks back and decided against it simply for financial reasons, I didn't wanna pressure myself into getting something I can't comfortably afford at the moment

the car is FOR SURE, one of the most complete packages in the market, I wouldn't mind it as a DD (depending where it'll be parked and such) but the thing delivers decent comfort, and TONS of power

I'd love to snatch one up maybe next year when you wanna get rid of yours I love gray too

we are just talking about the numbers here, it'll stir some shit until some unbiased test is held to support the claims, but either way, the car is a masterpiece!

Enjoy yours in the best of health Josh

Ok just for the record, I'm a GTR fanboy too and have always been. However that doesn't mean I trust every piece of information we get about the GTR.
And also if you read through some of my posts regarding the Porsche GT2RS you will see I made a similar post when Porsche claimed a 7:16 laptime.
As I said before, Sportauto did a proper test with the GT2RS and only managed a 7:24. I have made several rants about Porsche's official Ring laptimes, which btw pissed a lot of Porsche fanboys off.

Now back to the GTR. In this article Sportauto took part of Nissan's own testing of the new GT-R at the Ring and managed a 7:34 lap. 7:34 is an incredibly good time, only one second behind the newest Porsche GT3 RS. And considering the GT-R is an allrounder with a lot more weight this time is nothing short of amazing.
But 7:24? Come on, you guys need to get real. My advice to you all is to ignore all manufacturer's official Ring times and check for independent car magazine times. I for one only trust Sportautos times and nothing else: Rundenzeiten aus Supertests in Hockenheim und auf der Nordschleife | sport auto

Ok, I'm with you... It's incredible... I know very well that a stock gt2 rs is maybe 10 sec. faster... For sure... Gt2 RS is The GT2 RS, maybe the faster and wilder car on the planet!
But one thing i want you consider: the driver.
You have to know that a different driver on Nurburg can make the difference...
you say Sport Auto (many drivers) I say see this video:

Nurburgring Nordschleife - lap behind Porsche Cayman S driven by Timo Kluck

"Timo KLUCK does a very quick lap. Despite a 85kg passenger, he is 8s faster than the "supertest" lap by the german car magazine "sport auto". The Cayman S has ceramic brakes and regular road tyres"....

Timo is a great driver and in this video is noticeably faster than Sport Auto (and Porsche choose him for the GT2 RS record!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ).

It's not a ridicolous claim for me....

And Nissan claim is the same: Toshio Suzuki lives in that car and sleeps (in that car) in the Nurburgring's park.

But, don't worry, i can't go so fast!!!
