Paris Hilton gets Lexus LFA for her 30th Birthday...

There's a price for everything. The problem is that people are trying to justify worth and that's a very subjective thing. Not every purchase is sensible, rational and/or clearcut. This car is no exception. It just caters to a different palette.

Wow, I figured everyone here would go crazy about the LF-A. Granted I too was a bit jaded about its meaning too the first time a saw it.... Supercar? Check. 500 or less cars? Check. 550 hp? Check? Sex Appeal. Check. Purpose built? Check. I also like how Lexus didn't over hype this car like Dats...err I mean Nissan did to the GT-R. Lexus let the numbers and car talk for themselves.
I have a feeling this car is going to be VERY collectable and sought after 10, 15, or 20 years down the road. I think it will be very much like the 2000GT from years ago. Just watch.

I was thinking the same thing as reading through this. Sadly, even TS succumbs to these sort of car bashing that have no ground to stand on. Everyone has said,'but OMG it's a Lexus. I honestly have no idea what that means. When I hear that it makes me think someone doesn't like the car because for that money they want a more prestigious badge. To me that is shit, if so you should go shopping for bling with SF. The engineering and development in that car matches the new 12c, moreover I don't think anyone on this site has driven this. The argument can be made that for the cost, a 599 is a better option, something I agree with. But really, this car seems brilliant and the exhaust sounds on par or better than the GTO from what I've heard. And that is the beauty of someone like Paris having this car. She doesn't have to have a cavallino badge to prove anything to anyone, or to show off at starbucks. It's sad that it sounds like some people here do. /rantBut yes, this car is hideous in yellow (is this the N package?). I would rock white.

My opinion is purely from an aesthetical aspect. I don't doubt the car is special and well made. Maybe it does look better in person. I should probably be the first to concede that point.
Here's some clarification to Paris' 'gift'.
He supposedly purchased it in Pearl White for her but they rolled up the yellow one to film for her new show. She later tweeted "So not my style".

I am a car enthusiast. I find the machines to be amazing. It's a much needed break from hacking out code all day, only dealing in ones and zeros. But to claim that I have any deep understanding or knowledge of performance vehicles would be a gross misrepresentation of myself. If I portrayed anything otherwise, it was unintentional. Thus you are correct, I can't pass true judgment unless I actually experience the car. I certainly concede this point without prejudice. It can be fairly easy to dismiss something out of hand when the likelihood of actually interacting with it is pretty much nill. It's like saying I'll take Natalie Portman over Paris Hilton, when in reality I have no idea who either of them really are.
From what I've seen of these forums, there are some great people who not only are car enthusiasts, but who also share interests on many different levels. I very much appreciate this, and so I don't want to be the next asshat that you guys have to deal with. Rather I'm hoping to gain some new friends.
In the future, please feel free to call me on the rug. I'm here because I like what I've seen, and since my knowledge is limited, I'm hoping to learn from those of you who actually do know what you're talking about.
Hopefully I've been a bit more eloquent this time.

I will chime in. The car is ugly. My hatred for this thing is purely that. I've only one analogy for this.
If you are in high school and every guy in the school told you that the ugliest girl in school was the best fvck by far of all the girls in the school I STILL WOULDN'T FVCK HER?
I don't do ugly women or drive ugly cars no matter what their talents might be.
So this car could rival the space shuttle but im not trying it.
Yes I am sure its fast and furious but that's not my point.
