Nismo's Super GT racing GT-R
Performance is always the name of the game at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the biggest aftermarket tuning show in Japan. This year, the excitement was palpable as the Japanese sports-car scene received a much-needed injection of adrenaline from the introduction of key new models such as the Nissan GT-R, the Mitsubishi Evolution X and the Subaru WRX STI.

The GT-R was clearly the star of the show, with plenty of Japanese tuners offering aftermarket parts for a car that had been on the market for only a month. The word among tuners is that the GT-R responds well to tinkering, with ECU upgrades and the free-flowing exhaust pushing output from the twin-turbo V6 up from 473 hp to 530 hp.

GT-R specialist Mine's showed goodies ranging from a full titanium exhaust all the way to a track-spec Sachs suspension kit that costs a whopping $12,000.

 

473 to 530? if that's crank HP the figures are wrong, they already dyno 480 wheel stock.

 

Eh, you can never believe the figures anyway mate. The 32, 33 and 34 GTR's also all made 276 bhp
