Jenson Button's GT-R

Jenson Button snapped in Nissan GT-R - Auto Trader UK - News and Reviews Hub

F1 world champion Jenson Button has swapped his race car for a Nissan. But it’s not any old Nissan – Button is driving a matt black Nissan GT-R.

He was photographed dropping girlfriend Jessica Michibata off in Notting Hill in the Japanese supercar this morning. And it looks good in matt black doesn’t it?

Most F1 stars tend to drive ‘sensible’ cars off the track with new teammate Lewis Hamilton opting for a diesel Mercedes GL.

But Jense is different – the 29-year-old, who recently signed for McLaren, was recently seen driving a Mercedes C63 AMG super-saloon.

He’s also owned cars such as a Mercedes CLK DTM AMG, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Ford GT and Porsche Carrera GT. And his Bugatti Veyron was for sale on Auto Trader earlier this year – for the princely sum of £899,995.

The Nissan GT-R has been a phenomenon since its launch last year. Using a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre engine, the Japanese supercar boasts 480bhp and 433lb/ft of pulling power. This accelerates the GT-R from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 193mph – making the £56,000 GT-R a bona fide giant killer in the supercar stakes.

Nissan recently announced it is building an even more track-focussed GT-R. The Nissan GT-R SpecV is lighter, more hardcore and at £125,000, considerably more expensive.

I guess the GT-R qualifies as a sensible car. I wonder if it's modded.
