The Nissan GT-R Spec-V is set to debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon on January 9, so the many months of rumours surrounding its potency can be put to rest. More recent stories have suggested a 39bhp boost for the GT-R's 3.8-litre V6 mated to a 100kg cut from the standard car's 1740kg, which together should ensure a boost in performance and a dynamically sharper car. All should be revealed this coming weekend, but in the meantime, more details of the standard UK spec Nissan GT-R have been released.

It produces 298g/km of carbon, putting it in the highest tax band, although that doesn't place it any worse off than rivals. Fuel economy is along the same lines, with 15.4mpg urban, 31mpg extra urban and 22.8mpg on a combined run.

That 100 kg weight reduction should've have been made before the regular GT-R hit the market. In any case, I'm curious to see how it does on the track now with the power bump and lower weight. Should be some pretty staggering performance!
