WRX, which to buy

I am looking at getting a Subaru WRX. I drive all over Canada skiing during the winter and want a fun car that as AWD and can handle all conditions; while being semi fuel efficient and fun on the great back roads I get to drive. I have been looking at the new 09 model but have seen some reviews that say its a not such a great car (Top Gear) is the 06-07 model better?

Thanks in advance.

The older models sure looks better IMO.

those cars on tarmac are bloody awful to drive. understeer, understeer, understeer...

get em on gravel, dirt, snow, or wet and they are fun as hell.

What Province are you in, which WRX, normal or STI? What is your Budget?
Wagon or 4 door? Color?

I do prefer the older model than the current one as far as looks.

I like the wagon if you're going to go ski

02-03 Ugly, 04-05 not as fast, 06-07 best year because Subaru put the 2.5 liter engine in instead of the 2.0 liter.

My Fav one so far -----> 06 Wagon Canada Used Autos, Cars, Trucks, Boats, Motorcycles Online Classified Ads - AutoTrader.ca [/QUOTE]

The number one choice for me is a 06 sedan regular WRX with as low as kms as possible. The new ones look too grown up for me and the wife likes the old rally style of the 06 cars. I am willing to wait for the right car to come along. Does anyone know if the 06 has sirrus radio built in? I ski and travel across eastern US and Canada frequently and run into some pretty good weather, plus lots of B roads in fun conditions.

Pick up an 04 sti on the cheap now, throw some winter kicks and maybe a tbe and tune on there if you want some more grunt. Better deal than any 05-07 wrx imo for about the same budget.
