First ride on Clipless pedals today. What a difference they made in my ride! I would say it was a 99% success today (didn't fall off, but almost did when my girlfriend had a moment and flung herself off her bike, and I freaked out and almost fell but unclipped myself in time).

I have a picture somewhere of the results of my first day with clipless. I bought egg beaters which have no ability to adjust release tension. I ended up with multiple falls (but it was soft offroad riding anyway) and one set of gear shaped punctures up my calf. Enjoy the right of passage, you'll be able to get out without thinking in no time.

The first time I used clipless was on my track bike and my friends and I were testing them on some sprints in front of my house. I decided to see how quickly I'd skid to a stop if I just locked my legs up (have done it on traditional straps and cages with ease). I went over the bars for whatever reason, and my friends now have a story that I will never live down.
All in all, I think it was a resounding success.

39 mile ride today.
Hilliest I could think of.
I bonked at 20 miles from being an idiot. Not enough food or water.
Tough 19 to finish
Come to think of it this should be in the butthurt thread.

That sucks when it's halfway in or so and you know it's just gonna be a sucky burnt out rest of the ride. You said you like suffering though. ![Rofl2](https://teamspeed.com/forums/images/smilies/teamspeed/ts2/rofl2.gif)
