Exclamation

So, as I've gotten older and not kept up with the working out like I used to as a mad man...I've gain weight. Not rocket science.

Now, I'm not over weight by any stretch of the imagination, and (being humble here as much as I can) and at 38 years old, I look like I'm in better shape than most 20 or 30 year old guys. However, I've noticed that my waist has gotten bigger and I want to drop down to a weight that I can start tackling the gym again, and start piling on the lbs in muscle.

3 weeks ago, my GF bought this 'shake' stuff. Called Shakeology, from beachbodies. I was initially only going to try it for 3 days. I replace 2 meals a day and have a small meal (1 meal)- OR- I can do the cleanse, Which is replace all 3 meals with a shake.

So, I did it, then I continued - I have 2 shakes a day and one meal a day for 4-5 days. 2 days I eat what ever the F I want.

And in less than 3 weeks, I've lost 7lbs. I used to be 194-198. Now, I just weighed myself (with clothes) and I weigh 187lbs. I've lost in my guesstimate about 1" off my waist.

Now, here's the deal. During my shake days, I've had a tiny bag of Doritoes, and/or peanut butter crackers. In my shake I put 1 banana, 2TBS of chunky organic peanut butter and honey.

that's it.

Not to mention I no longer have the 'mid afternoon, post lunch nap attack'. I sleep better, I feel better. And best yet, no longer have the BS cravings for junk food. I can say 'NO' to bad food.

So that's it. Try it if you want or not. I don't give a crap. But it friggin worked for me. And I'll continue using it. Do your research as I'm not doing it for you.

Tadow.

Just got done with a short swim. Spreading out my fruit consumption throughout the day a bit better so as to not cram it all in right before the swim...instead, I'm eating a smoothie with some toast and peanut butter for breakfast, and post cardio-blast, I'll make another one. The smoothies are smaller than I normally make them so I'm intaking the same amount total, but it's more spread out...plus it helps me get my sugar levels back up after cardio. That and I just like drinking smoothies.

I'm exhausted though, for whatever reason my body is working much harder than it normally is this week. Oh well, gotta keep moving forward!

I haven't been on the MTB in a good month cause of my back injury and regular road warrior work. So I took a nice easy ride on one of the trails that starts right in town. This is pedal out the back door type of stuff here, I'm gonna miss this the most with my move to Vegas.

did not want to jinx it, but i have successfully stayed under 187lbs for 10 days.
in fact i have not been over 183.7 in the past 3 days, eating carbs and everything. could not make it to the gym every day however.
182.6 this morning flat (83kg)
mind you, this is quite an achievement i am proud of because during ramadhan usually you are EXPECTED and "excused" to put on 8-11 lbs.
i lost 10 a bit poetic that i lost myself last ramadhan (got married, caught up with furnishing and married-things to do) and now i am SO CLOSE to where i was (in terms of weight)

next stop is 176lbs, i KNOW i can do it before work (actual semester starts 18th sept) but it is entirely dependent on how many days i CAN make it to the gym. when i don't, the trick is as always keeping my mouth shut and making sure the chicken breasts are ready every night so i don't get any fat-ideas

going to Hajj this year, so i will resume the goal of being 170lbs 8-10% bf when i return god willing

workouts in ramadhan have been: start with either 10min on Stairmaster, fatburner mode (i put in 185lbs as my weight), level 15.
OR a 2km run at 12km/h for 10mins. both get the heart rate up in excellent fashion.
then it's a bit of whatever i feel like doing to pump up and keep the mass for 40-50 minutes before i wrap it with 10min in the sauna.

food is basically chicken breasts for wholefood protein + veggies for carbs + the occasional sugary bite(s) and fatty foods (social gatherings) to keep me sane

working out > enjoying food
