GLN just get some wrist wraps, stop being a sissy with gloves...
you cant really change the fact that a sweet potato is a complex carb as a white potato is a simple carb... will it make a huge difference no, are they better for you yes... are you trying to win Mr. Olypia... doubt it. does it matter that much to stress over it... doubt it
keep your carb intake as clean as the rest of your diet...

just take it easy...
of course it may not be the best choice then but you have good results anyway.
The GI thing is of course important and I`m sure you know what Insulin does and how it effects fat loss or muscle gains or whatever..
but in the end this is also an example of a paper vs real life thing...
you can for example also add veggies, meat and a load of water and the GI of the entire meal,e.g. the response in insulin release and blood sugar level change will change..
plus,if you did not know better you could lose fat on a bag of sugar a day...cause after all it`s calories in vs calories out(of course not all that simple like that) and your body will respond to that
how good you could hold on to muscle and how effective fat loss then would be is another thing...but you would still make some efforts
but honstly,
suck it up for the rest of your dieting phase and after that you can losen things up and find a balance between healthy eating and enjoying food that you crave for
