If that was recent, they spent up the tires in a hurry. Part of the service is tire condition and I don't think the "slick" looking tires discussed would of passed the inspection.

Probably the same woman that claimed there was another car racing them.

I drive a 12' Turbo S. It is every bit as fast as the CGT from 0-100 if not faster. I like to spin it up now and again. But one thing for sure I don't do it with anyone else in the car and I am100% focused. Cars like this must be handled appropriately and if they get out of control at high speeds you are in serious trouble. The CGT although rare and exclusive is a car I would never trust in the hands of someone that is driving it beyond their limitations. I hope everyone on this board takes time to think what they are about to do when they take there super fast cars out on a pedestrian road next time.

^You have a nice car, but I'm going to avoid commenting on your comments.

The car was at GMG a good while ago. The car was being beat to crap. It ain't the car, nor will it ever be. Lawyers will make that be different, but the car is not one damn bit relevant. Cold tires and a big ego with an actor in the front seat that had never driven in a car caused too much pressure to be applied to the gas pedal. Racer or not, the driver had swollen studly ball syndrom for a second and it got away from him. That crash was at 100 mph plus easy. I'm not sure why the media is involved her, and there's nothing to investigate besides a stupid act. It all simply sucks. I could have easily done the dumb thing.

Yes, well said, that's what it is.
I mean just look at the crashed car: a CGT has a complete carbon fibre monocoque and they usually can take a lot of impact without barsting into a million parts. I know of a Murcielago driver who crashed at 200mph and he just stepped out of the car! Sure this is a very lucky exception.
But if a wreck looks like this, the driver must have been gone very, very fast...

I couldnt agree more smokinghot..

The problem is that today with the top gear videos and fast and furios movies (what an irony) it seems so easy to catch sliding cars. But many people forget that all this is happening at slow speeds. Speed kills..many of us can probably catch a sliding turbo S, GT2, C-GTat 50mph, maybe 100mph..but if these cars start to slide at 150mph..then youre are in serious trouble as you say. 99% wouldnt be able to catch it and I have never seen either a video where Jeremy Clarkson catches a car breaking out of a corner at 150mph - because he cant. Only proffessional drivers can do that. We cant.

GTcole is correct when he says its not the car..and apparently the driver was killed on the spot; this would have never happened at 45mhp..I rather suspect they lost control at 145mph.

Its tragic enough, we dont want to read here that fellow Teamspeeders would follow the same fate.

Respect your car - and it will respect you.

smokinghot4cars & jumping horse - you guys need to get off your soap box and quit your preaching. Sure it was tracjic what happened and we will never know the reasoning behind the crash, could have been mechnical or speed. But fact of the matter is people who buy high performance cars are going to let it loose on the street no matter who you are, Sure looks have something to do with it, but ultimately you bought the car for the power, otherwise you might as well be satisfied with buying a civic.

As for F&F movies, think what this has done for the economy, from movie franshise and introducing people to the tuner market. Millions of doallars have been spent just because of the movies.

So before blaming the driver look at yourself first. and have a little respect and stop trying to blame someone that not here to defend themselves.

You may not agree on my POV but don't dumb down the topic with a comment that F&F has helped the economy. What are you 19.

Chris Harris posted an interesting article on the cgt with all the media coverage its been getting because of this tragic event. It can be found in his twitter link or on pistonheads. Wasnt sure if I could post link. He really hits the nail on the head with it.
