I think where the 918 will shine is on the track. I also think it will shine on reliability, refinement, and just the quality of the product. It is such a complicated thing with all of the electric bits, but it is very obvious Porsche has done far more extensive testing than McLaren and Ferrari have. This testing I think will prove to journalists that it is a true, quality product, and the hard work of the engineers will be very obvious, based upon how smooth and consistent everything runs.
Where the 918 shines is its true world a to b pace . On the road ( where these things are REALLY used ) its 4wd, 4ws, massive instant torque etc will make it almost untouchable , in all weathers . Combine that with its fantastic day to day usability , its full cache of all the mod cons , gadgets and removable roof and you have a do anything supercar as good for driving across Europe as it is for taking the misses down the coast for a lovely dinner .
This is not a pure track monster like the P1 and LAF , talking to the engineers that built it that is the resounding impression and anyone expecting an out and out track monster will , im afraid , be disappointed .

I do not agree at all . On faster tracks due to power and weight ratios the 918 will not compete .

You are completely wrong on so many of the points you are trying to make. I won't say much now, just wait and see

This car here is still just a test mule, done up with production spec wheels and a nice paint job. The headlights and tail lights are just makeshift pre-production units. There are a few mules with the production units, which are very similar to the concept car.

Sorry but If I had to guess you will be the who is wrong. Considering wtdoom owns a CGT and probably seen/sat in and talked to Porsche about buying a 918, I would trust his word.
