"If we were a car magazine we'd call this a WORLD EXCLUSIVE, but we're not, so we won't. Let's just say we got very early access to the car everyone wants to know about. And it was very, very good. Volume to 11 please."

As usual, Chris hit it right..

Will it be a better car in all ways ? Sure....longer wheelbase, wider track and add'l 2 years of development. That is what Porsche does best.

But as he noted, there is the other battle..loss of manual, etc. My biggest fear is that it will be an AWESOME machine that one will grow tired of easily. Like my old 996 Turbo...supremely fast and comfortable, did everything well. But once I got a (real) GT3, I never drove it anymore. I have a feeling this one will be the same way. We'll see.

Thanks for posting, I've been waiting for Chris Harris to review the GT3, he didn't disappoint.

So as with any new car, it is better in every way possible, but compromises some of the flaws which made the previous car so special.

IMO there is no avoiding the progress that is PDK. Manual would be "better", but the lack of it only adds to the charm, character, and desirability of the older cars.

That is what is so great about the 911, every time the change it, there is and equal gain and loss on either end, which gives each generation something about it; a different soul, all are more or less equally as good.
