Disagree. They had three choices IMO:

1. Manual Only
2. Manual or Automatic - customer choice
3. Automatic Only

They went with automatic only but would've been better served letting their customer's pick what they wanted.

 

Porsche might not have gone the right way in the views of Porschephiles, but for the wider audience out there they definitely did the right thing with the PDK only 'box.

Think about it... More and more people are going to buy these "premium" GT3s over the Carreras and more of them are going to crash the cars because it gives them so much confidence when they're driving it (just like the R35 GTR).

Basically Porsche is going to make a killing in the vehicle sales and parts sales after they crash.

Fair point..but:

1) AP also proclaimed the CL as a great invention..today we know that there are flwas with them

2) AP is not the management board, if they tell him, "one gearbox is cheaper"..then one gearbox is cheaper..

Holy crap. The Porsche website says this car hits 60 in 3.3 sec and Porsche is usually conservative with their specs. Can't wait to see how fast it actually is.

 

anyone know why the sports bucket seats options are not available in the US configuration site? They are in the UK site and they also have the club sports package. It's probably the most important option on a GT3.

 

It is something like a pre-RS package.!

 

It does look good.
