I admit, I've lost alot of love for Porsche since the 991 came out. Lost even more love when hearing about only PDK for the GT3.

BUT after watching the interview with EVO, I am back on board! Well done Porsche, sorry for ever doubting you. I hope you forgive me. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a GT2.

Finally!

I am amazed. This was a lot better than I expected, on all levels. The car looks absolutely fantastic, aggressive, yet stylish. Just look at those forged wheels! Moreover, the performance figures are on a new level. 475hp is quite an improvement really, and the Nürburgring lap-time of under 7:30 is nearly Carrera GT and GT2RS territory!

As others have said though, its a bit sad for us enthusiasts to see a non-metzger GT3 with a PDK gearbox and electro-mechanical steering. However, we all knew this day was coming, due to regulations and market demands - and for all I know, I am at least very happy to see that Porsche has made the best of the situation by specifically optimizing the aforementioned for this particular car. Unfortunately, even Porsche has to move with the times. The GT3 is supposed to be the ideal track day weapon, in terms of performance, driver involvement and pure joy. Most of the competition feature only dual clutch transmissions, the 458 and McLaren comes to mind, but also cars like the M3 GTS and Nissan GT-R (although more of a Turbo competitor). By not adding a PDK, they would have a hard time keeping up in terms of performance (to some extent debatable of course), however it remains to be seen to what extent the driver involvement and pure joy has come to suffer. Either way, I believe this car will be an amazing performer.

No matter how good this car is, (which I KNOW it is), I'll still never be able to get over the fact of looking in the foot well and seeing two pedals. Just isn't right in a GT3. Kind of like finding out that hot girl you met at the bar isn't entirely a woman...

However, I do wonder if this car still offers a more "raw" experience compared to the normal 991, or whether it feels exactly the same. I guess only reviews can tell us if this car is still "connected" to the road as the GT3 should have it.

This is way better than my expections. The Carrera 2 design is very, very elegant so I really was expecting Porsche to have a tough time making it look sporty and agressive, yet they did it and in a fantastic way. Can't wait for a nice sound clip and a review from Chris Harris.
