but then... helmets are not required on the Nurburgring either, and that track is quite a bit more dangerous, faster, more crowded, etc...

When did this forum become an online nanny? It's his car, his life, his decisions. I trust myself enough to not wear a helmet on a track (in a road car...) too. Should he also wear a racing suit? And flame retardant boots? And get an SCCA membership before ever setting foot on a track?
