I've crashed twice at the ring so have my own experience there but whenever the helmet question comes up I recall this crash of Winkelhock.

If that doesn't convince one to wear a helmet on any track, I don't what would?

Right, because a track day is the same as wheel-to-wheel competitive racing

Well you certainly aren't in any sort of risk management! Or spent much time on track. Lol! Idiot.

Yes, because I do something different than you do, I must be an idiot.

I've been karting since I was 4 and I respect the limit of my talent. Since that age, whether in a kart, formula car, or street car, I have never crashed and don't think I finish last, either.

Wearing a full harness and a helmet in a race car is completely different than wearing a helmet in a street car with airbags and a three-point seatbelt.

Want to pontificate further on open-faced vs. closed-faced helmets too?

I'd be interested in hearing from your deep experience which organizations allow tracking (open/timed OR race series) without a helmet. Enlighten me please.

I do wear helmets when racing, just not when I'm on a casual track day. Just like I don't wear a helmet when I'm doing a canyon run in my road car (used to be the M3 but since I sold it I don't really go on any). Please refer to when I said: "Wearing a full harness and a helmet in a race car is completely different than wearing a helmet in a street car with airbags and a three-point seatbelt."

Now, I'm going to stop arguing, so that people start enjoying the video of this great car. Feel free to disagree with me or think I'm an idiot; I'm fine with it. It's just the internet.

Hmmm. If one does have the misfortune to crash, whatever the reason, in your great experience would one be better off with or without a helmet?
