Which 997 gt2 flash to get?
Hello,
Need advice from members with gt2's that have flashed their ecu's. I'm in Cali so I would be primarily running 91 octane. I will also most likely be running the stock exhaust at least for now so a flash that might have a easy loader to upgrade the tune to accept new mods would be great. Thanks !
I used to run the Giac flash on my old 996 turbo 700hp build but that was Years ago and since then have been out of the Porsche mod game for a long long time.

I went with Switzer. Read about it here:

Heard good things about EVOMS, but also heard they are not as responsive as Switzer.

This is pertinent to the OP - 997GT2 standard clutches are right on the limit.
My own GT2 in 100% stock tune would sometimes slip the standard clutch in 3rd gear (doesn't happen in second or first as the loading is not there).
I also know about two other standard GT2s doing exact same thing including a GT2RS.
It is the torque NOT the hp which makes the clutch slip. The factory rated 690NM can raise to 740NM in a high gear or sometimes a little more in cold conditions and the stock clutch is not up to it.
So budget for a beefed up Sachs with your flash !
My 2 penny worth, the VTG engines are very sensitive to fuel Octane and running 91 MON will not allow much scope for much more performance from the engine.... maybe with light loadings up to fourth gear - this may be enough for the OP ?

I got EVOMS flash, BRV's and some 200 cell sport cats. The combo added 90hp/tq conservately. My clutch started to slip soon afterwards and thus I got a new LWFW race clutch, which in iteself is also a great performance mod.
OFF topic, you might want to consider a nice suspension setup, it made my car literally feel like a gokart.
Where in CA do you live? I can recommend some great tunning shops to go.
