GT3 RS 4.0 or 430 Scuderia

Hello members,

These 2 cars have always been on the top of the car list for me, but if you had to choose only 1 out of the 2 cars, which one will it be............?

I would love to hear your opinions on why you would choose either car over the other!

I am also sure that their might be some TS members that have owned or even driven both cars, your input would be great!

Thank you,

RS due to it being newer
It will take a long time before a new RS 4.0 will come if it even comes.
While the scuderia/challange stradale version of the 458 should be around the corner.

I actually had this question go through my head the other day. It's a tough one! I'll start with my thoughts:

RS 4.0
Pros - manual transmission, way more rare than a Scud (at from what I've seen), last of the Mezger blocks, easier on maintenance
Cons - not as exotic as the Scud, takes more skill to drive (may be a pro for some people), can't "turn off the race car experience", less forgiving than the Scud

430 Scuderia
Pros - more exotic than the 4.0 (at least to the average car enthusiast), amazing Ferrari sound (although the 4.0 isn't exactly lacking), very visceral experience when pushed, easier to find a non-tracked example, more of a "status car" than the 4.0 (if you care about that kind of thing)
Cons - Ferrari maintenance, no manual transmission to nail that heel/toe and feel like Walter Röhrl, more high profile than the 4.0 (but then again why buy either of these if you don't like attention, right?), if it does, and it will, go in for repairs, they may take forever due to the notoriously imperfect dealer/parts network

I'm sure there's more as I can't weigh in on ownership, only driving experiences. However, you've definitely come to the right place to ask! Being the GT forum though, answers MAY be biased...

Either way you end up going, I don't think there really is a wrong choice. It all just comes down to gut feeling, as I'm a strong believer in letting your gut tell you which one to go with. After all, these cars evoke some of the best "driving emotion" on earth. Good luck with your decision!

I have driven a 3RS 3.8, but not 4.0.
I have also driven a Scud on a track and own a modified GT2.
I would say that the only cars I would trade my GT2 in for is the 4.0 or the CGT. That is how great I believe it to be.
I would love to own a Scud but would not get one over my car.

Forgot to mention that I heard a 4.0 take off with stock exhaust but a cross pipe and it was the most amazing car sound I have ever heard. As great as the Scud sounds, there is no comparison.

I miss my Scud! It's 430 on steroids with awesome exhaust note! Owned the car for over a year and not a single problem. The only regret probably the fact that they produced too many...unlike the Stradale.

It's all preference at that point.

I prefer Ferrari, but would have to drive both.

P.S. Ferrari and Porsche are my two favorite manufactures.
