Spied: 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Virtually Undisguised!

Those ended up being the production aero and wheels. Those are two things Porsche doesn't vary much. The lights, etc. do get makeovers or cover-ups, but the aero and wheels are usually exposed from the get-go. That's why these GT3 wheels worry me.

Rear decklid is no doubt the same as the aerokit.
Think back to the good old days of the 997.1 GT3. The aerokit for the Carrera had the same decklid as the GT3. I believe history is repeating itself here.
Agree Chris on the wheels. I hope these aren't final. These are also the same wheels that were spotted on the 991 Turbo mule, so hopefully they are just temporary center locks for mules.

I would guess 3.8 for a few reasons: The 997 GT3 range's gradual displacement increases (3.6 to 4.0) were on the Mezger block, so not really comparable with the more pedestrian cars, especially after the transition to the 9A1 block with the facelift; also, I believe that the 997.1 GT3 (3.6l) had a smaller engine than the contemporary Carrera S (3.8l), and the GT2 RS of course ran a 3.6l Mezger block, whereas the turbo (s) had a boosted 3.8l 9A1. Now that the GT3 will probably have a warmed over Carrera S engine, I would anticipate that they will go with a 3.8 incorporating lighter internals, freer flowing intake and/or exhaust, and a redline above 8,000 RPM. That way they can probably get to ~450 bhp in a car that is significantly lighter than the outgoing car, allowing enhanced performance, despite the marginal overall increase in performance. Since the 4.0 is the only factory road car to run a 4.0l engine, I bet they will save that for a runout edition RS at the end of the lifecycle for the 991.1 (or even 991.2), with graphics and styling echoing the instant classic antecedent. I really can't see them going with a flat-8 or anything like that.

The longer Porsche delays a release of a RS with a PDK and minimum of 500 HP the longer I don't have to worry on how to get the money to buy one. Lol
For me I would see no reason to buy a car less than or even equal to my RS 4.0. I need a major step up for the 4.0 RS to bite. Porsche has set the bar high with the RS 4.0 for sure.

Porsche is notorious for using the aero and wheels from their development cars on the production version. Check this 997.1 Turbo from spy pics:
