There is absolutely nothing new about this. During the '70s and early '80s, in the last true years of the Texas oil boom, every redneck that made a couple million over night was buying a 911.
I'd say that maybe 20-30% of the Porsches sold in my hometown of Houston go to actual enthusiasts.
In the end, this is just more cash in the porker bank to keep expanding the GT breed.
