So what new Porsche are you most excited for in the near future?

991 GT3/RS, Cayman, 960/1
For me personally, and I know this has been said before, the Cayman is going to be the next release I'm going to gauge Porsche's enthusiast offering by. Before I worked for them, I thought Porsche simply couldn't do anything wrong, however after being exposed to their corporate communications and processes, anything is possible, evident with the softer more detached 991. I say, Bring on the GT3 and RS models and show us they still make pure sportscars...

I got to shoot a client's Edition 918 Spyder 911 Turbo S a couple weeks ago, and if that 911 derivative is any indication, the 918 is gonna be siiiiiiiiiiiick. Thankfully, I've been told I'll shoot the 918 upon it's arrival to this client - something I'm thrilled about.
I took my shot of the 911 and mocked it up with Porsche's official 918 marketing image and made a poster for the client.
This 911 is sorta-kinda a fusion of a GT3RS and a Turbo S...

CanNOT wait for the 918!

Would have never thought that funkadelic green would compliment this vehicle...but I was wrong....this is such a sweet colour combo with a touch of class...I like the seat piping and the green under the side view mirrors...

Yes, but at it's fundamental level the 918 is about bragging rights. The price makes it ostentatious, yes, but it also hasn't deterred sales of it either. Who is going to track their 918? I'd suspect no one. Who is gonna drive their 918 like an F40 owner drives their F40? No one, again, I suspect. It's performance is less important in this particular case, it's a really cool piece of jewelry.
Further, Porsche is quite smart to make a "hybrid" perceived as ultra-exclusive, which they hope will help the overall public acceptance of hybrids being "cool", since they are spending a lot of time and money researching the technology for the short and long term future of Porsche.

Hi DBV,
what you saying about Porsche..well - when I was small I wanted to work for Porsche also..however, after VW took over too many things changed. I know of 3 people who have left the company..many others still stay only there because of "porsche"..the magic name.
Yes---the 991 is a different animal..lets see what the future brings..but on average I would say that the times of the "supercars" are close to be over..probably we will get some more time where hybrid will be used..but these are just the last desperate actions before they will all "die" anyhow.
140C02 will not be possible for the supercars we know..
Sorry for my pessimistic view..
Long live teamspeed -
even with supercars dead in 30 years - we would still be discussing about them..

I can`t wait to see new one!
