Two reasons this sounds like bull:
A.) The GT and RS models have been nothing but PR gold for Porsche. Even if the company loses money on every one, they're worth twice their price in terms of the media attention and excitement the generate among car lovers.
B.) There's no way Porsche has fleshed out its plans for whatever generation comes after the 991 (the 992?) that firmly. A 992 GT3 would be at least ten years away. Heck, even a 991 GT3 RS would be at least three or four years away, and I bet the Porsche engineers could easily figure out how to turn a GT3 into a GT3 RS within 12 months.
If we reach a point where Porsche announces the 992 Carrera and we still haven't seen a 991 GT3 RS...then you can worry.

Yes..to many things you write - I can agree - but concerning point:
a) if Porsche would loose money on a GT3 - it will liquidate it immedieately. You dont know how greedy they became..
b) Yes..992 is still far away...but one thing is already today a fact - Porsche is already reducing its motorsport pedigree for 2012 and thereafter - Nürburgring 2012: Porsche more or less pulled already out of it..besides now that ist together with VW - do you think you will still see R8s and 911s battling and kicking each other out of the race - while they belong to the same "Konzern"..think about it...
PS: Porsche asked the German government for a 250mill. state subsidy for the extension of its plant in Leipzig..just for your info..

What you say about the 2012 Motorsports lineup is untrue. They are just as big as in 2011, AND they will be preparing to go head to head with Audi in Le Mans.

People will by nearly buy any 911 Porsche will throw at them, and THAT is a fact... Worst case scenario they produce their GT cars in smaller numbers... And I think there will never be a PDK version, such a car will eat away so much from 991S and TT owners, cause it'll give them the best of both worlds...
