Lets hope it gets scrapped two days into testing so we can get another one of these...

Now I have a team to truly root for! Go Porsche, storm Le Mans!

Who remembers in 2008 when the RS Spyder totally dominated the ALMS? Beating out the LMP1 cars 8 times out of 12. Imagine what an LMP1 car from them will do! I knew a P1 from them was coming, but now that it's confirmed, this is really exciting. I hope it's gasoline powered. And I know it will probably never happen, but flat 6 power would be amazing.

Hmm...an Audi vs. Porsche battle will be interesting. Not sure how happy Dr. Ullrich is about this news.

My thoughts exactly. With Porsche's historical dominance and Audi's current dominance it will surely bring up some interesting races.

If the article is correct and Porsche is indeed aiming at the LMP1 class, Porsche will need to adopt a diesel powered platform to compete. I think it will represent the Panamera Diesel 3.0-litre V6 engine rather than any flat 6 gas engine.

We will see!

Should be very exciting to see this new Porsche LMP1 car compete with the Audi Sport Team who also designs their LMP1 cars under the very same Porsche VAG authority.

I'm glad that we will finally get to see something new besides Audi vs. Peugeot.

I don't think the Audi camp is too worried to be honest though.

Their TDI LMP program is top notch and even a giant like Porsche is going to have their hands full.

The diesels are way quicker than the gas cars and thats with with performance balancing.
