C&D: Rear-Engine v Mid-Engine Comparo

If you haven't seen the article in C&D, here's a brief video documenting the 'tests'. Bottom-Line: Porsche has proven that rear-engined cars can handle as good (if not better) than mid-engined ones.

Let the Rear v Mid debate begin...

That was interesting. Although I don't really feel like the results were effected as much by the engine placement as the overall performance of the cars used. But I'm not too surprised.

I'm not surprised either. Porsche will never let it's entry level cars beat the GT3. I am interested to see how the cayman R compares to the base 911 or 911S

Multiple variables. How do they work?!?!?!

Weight, tire width, tire composition, suspension components. What a bogus test.

Base R8 is heavier than Base GT3. Sorry but the GT3 will beat it around the track every time.

I think Porsche offered C&D to test both and this is the angle that they decided to use to write the story, we all know those 2 cars are different animals...but it proved to make for interesting reading along with some following 'religious debate'.

GT3 for me every time though...
