AUTOCAR Porsche GT2 rs, F40, XJ220
#14
The F40 has always been a dream car for me, mainly because it's just so simple: bucket o' carbon and a beautiful twin turbo V8. It's too bad so many companies have shyed away from this philosophy. I understand safety equipment is critical for modern street cars, but more off-road special editions or something seem in order. I've never driven one but have sat in the driver's seat. Hoping some day someone is generous enough
Give me as little add-ons possible, as light a car as possible, as thin of doors as possible etc (basically the complete opposite of a BMW M3, no offense to anyone ). At least Lotus still gets it. Well until this latest lineup announcement.
And the GT2RS is simply insane, I've driven faster cars but he's right, every time the boost comes on the thing feels like it's about to wheelie and fly away. It has a second surge of ridiculousness around 4500-5000 RPMs, too. The one I drove was modified by SW for close to 700 HP.
