918 Revisited
#32
None reported in Italy so far...
A part from the price which is out of... everything...
I think the Hybrid way has not been an happy one for the 918.
Customers for this kind of cars love the old, pure an real HP...
Leave batteries to Prius IMHO...

Every potential buyer (eg the people who have around 300-550k to play with) dropped out of interest when the pricing came out...what a shame and I will echo, who cares about a hybrid at that point???

Basically every other car in this price range is limited to about 20-300 units, and even some of those have a hard time selling all their cars. I don't really get how Porsche planned to sell 1000+ units in this price range...
And tbh, I also don't see the point of putting a Porsche flagship out there on top of the 911. You don't need a faster car than the GT2RS. Better make a 2 seater GT-version of the Panamera.

I think Porsche should fly every single client who places a deposit to Germany to go see the car, touch it- experience it somehow. They need to get people closer to it to justify the price tag.
Something to add GOOD PR on this car- which appears to be torpedoed before it's even burned rubber on the road.

The 918 is not worth the price that they are asking no matter how much PR they are going to do. There are too many fast cars out there at a good price. This 918 just does not have the Wow factor compared to the time when Carrera GT, 959, or even when 993TT came out.

i'm touching it right now with my ugly hand. mang, it's hard to justify the price tag, although it's just a marketing model kit they sent...
