I would appreciate any advice. I currently have and use as daily drivers both a GT3RS.1 and a 997TT.1.

I really want to simplify my life. I thought getting rid of both these cars and getting a Lotus Exige S, which I have driven and like the 'spartan' quality and handling of the car, might make sense.

Anyone have experience with both brands - any advice?

Driven all three and in my opinion, the Lotus wouldn't be a suitable replacement for both your RS and TT. I would not want to daily an Exige...

 

I think the GT3RS would still be more civil as a daily driver than the Exige.

 

My advice?

DO NOT DO IT.

You will regret it. The Lotus are over priced kit car/go-karts. You'll be annoyed within 20 minutes on the road. By looking at your Sig it looks like a long love affair with Porsche.

Why not try out a Lamborghini or Ferrari? I heard 430's and Gallardo's aren't too bad for a DD; and not nearly as expensive to maintain as one would think.

And no, the 918 is not a joke. It's real. LOL

 

Did you read his post? He said simplify. To me going from 911->Ferrari is not good advice. Op- I would try to find something like a cayman r over a lotus.

 

Lotus in week two you would regret. Simplify by dumping one of the Porsche's. 911s are brilliant DD. I personally would keep the GT3. I don't like turbos.

Loti are fun for a few weeks. You will soon hate it.

I personally also think the CGT 2 I am calling it looks awesome. A 300k mid engine would be cool. I also believe the new 918 is too much money.

 

I did. The difference between you and I is I actually paid attention to his buying habits, which speaks directly to what's going to be the right move for him. You just took his post for face value.

The point isn't to simply just address his statement/question; it's to dig deeper into the actual motives.

So in your mind it is incomprehensible from someone to downsize from a 911? Although I think a lotus is not a smart move from a 911 who am I to think I know better than the op, I am not the exalted stoppie. But I gave a good recommendation comparable to his post not a freaking Lamborghini of Ferrari.
