So we all know GT2s don't hold their value, in fact, they depreciate faster than any other 997 variants. A barely used GT2 can be had for around 130K, thats right into GT3/RS territory.
Yes I know GT3 has more throttole response, sharper steering, better engine note etc, but the GT2 offers that sheer driving experience no other cars can match. Its more challenging, requires more attention from driver, it actually can be a lot more fun once you know what you are doing. Technically, it certinaly is one of the most advanced P car to date (probably only after the CGT).
So why on earth do people see the car as a pos? Everyone is getting all excited about the 4.0 GT3 RS, but no one seems to care for 150K you could get a virtually new 08 GT2 when the limited edition GT3 RS costs an estimted 200K. Perfomance-wise, I bet GT2 still has the edge over the much anticipated final GT3 RS.
I've already got my name down on a 4.0 GT3 RS, but I've recently been thingkin wouldn't I be better off with a GT2 and I can use the extra 50k on a 1 series M ?
Or should I just wait for another year or two when GT2 RS is finally cursed?

They don't call it the widow maker for nothing. (Having never driven one) but from I read this car is a beast. I drove a 996 TT and if the GT2 is faster and RWD then it must be one hell of a machine.

Don't get me wrong, I like the car very much, I think it looks fantastic, and goes like a bullit. Apprantly the market doesn't see it that way, being nearly 40% cheaper with only a few thousand miles on the clock, many dealers are still finding GT2s difficult to shift. I can't understnad why.... I fear GT2 RS is also heading toward the same direction........
