911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder”... that is just lame.

1. I just read (Porsche opens 918 Spyder plug-in supercar pre-orders, $845,000 gets you a ticket to ride -- Engadget) that the US list is $845k
2. In the press release, remember guys you are allowed the OPTION TO BUY the turbo s 918 edition - they don't give it to you for free. Prices for the turbo s/cab are the same for the non-918 edition versions (160 and 172k).
3. Hey Carrara, still think Porsche is making a "normal" amount of 911 variants?

I doubt it will be 845K I think the US price will be closer to 700K, either way I think it's a lot of money for a hybrid car. I mean essentially the technology used in this "hybrid" hasn't even been perfected where as all the technology and engineering in the CGT is still almost cutting edge to today's standards. I would rather have a CGT for less money especially since they don't look thaaaaaaaaatt much different.

When your 918 is delivered 2-1/2 years from now, wouldn't you want a matching 991 Turbo instead?
Note to Porsche, keep the hybrid tech (and it's extra weight) and drop the price accordingly. The 918 would be a tremendous car with just the V8 (twin turbo anyone?)
