Mclaren MP4 Vs. Carerra GT.

There are sort of two ways of looking at this:
1) Unless you're Walter Rohrl or some other professional driver, your odds of getting the most out of the performance of the Carrera GT without killing yourself are slim to none. More people will be able to safely enjoy the abilities of the MP4-12C. That being said, nobody would be able to drive either car at 10/10th unless they're on a track and I get the feeling that most people would rather drive the MP4 around the track if they're going for outright speed.
2) In terms of driver involvement and enjoyment off the track, the Carrera GT is such sensory overload at all speeds that it will likely be the more exciting of the two to drive on the street regardless of how fast you're going. Listening to that glorious V10 bellow and feeling the little bumps in the road through the thin steering wheel are all apart of a truly magnificent experience.
I justify my original choice of the MP4 by saying that if I really wanted to use either car to as close to its full potential as possible, I'd have to take it to the track. And in terms of getting the most out of the car, lap after lap, the McLaren would be the clear winner, imo.

Apples 'n' oranges, such a hard question! Only you can answer you own question. All we can do is give you solid impressions of both but it's not even fair when the MP isn't even out yet. Oh well, whatever you choose you will be happy I bet, both great cars.

Sir , my understanding of the Macca is that it is limited in production only by tooling and time to build / sell . There are no signs of a numbers cap per se .

This is kind of a silly comparison. Apples to Oranges as stated above.
IMHO, the CGT is in the ultra-exclusive supercar group that includes the CGT, Enzo, F40, F50, Veyron, K-egg, Zonda and of course the king of them all, the F1.
The MP4 is in the same league as the 458, Gallardo LP/SL, R8 V-10, Scuderia, GT2RS, etc. Anyone of those would make for a much more applicable "which would you rather have" thread.
