AutoBild says 918 coupe to be shown in Detroit?

They need a car in the $200ish range; just not another 911.

I think Porsche should take advantage of their rich history and re-offer reloads of their classics, but with modern technology. For example, they want a "Sub-Boxster" to increase sales numbers. Why not take that proposed flat-four, drop it into a new 356 and sell the hell out of them (coupe/cabrio/roadster)? Another example would be what they did in '60s and '70s with cars like the 904, 906, etc. Why not sell a new, lightweight, "race car" with 911 components above the 911 line? Yet another example is continually apply LeMans-type technology to a supercar every 6-7 years much like Ferrari is doing with the F40/F50/Enzo/etc. Porsche has as much heritage and success (and fans!) to sell a 1000-vehicle production run for each version.
Porsche should just hire me now and save them from having to troll TS. Of course, I'll bring Carrara with me to make sure I'm on the right track.
