Hey Saif,

Thanks for the great pics as usual. I look forward to seeing you in the Intermediate group next time!

Regarding your alignment question, the manual does not have all the details and Porsche will not give them out easily. The best thing to do is to ask Nabooda to do a race setup and give you the printout of the alignment machine. This way you will have it with you and can have it done somewhere else and play with the settings if need be. Talk to Omar or Hadrian at the Service Center when it comes to this type of things. They are the best.

Take care,
P

Actually before the track day I dropped the car to have the car set to track settings. Didn't work very well with me. My car is anyway at Ali & sons right now for a brake fluid flush as well as Engine Oil change. Can't trust Al Nabooda anymore since they scratched my steering wheel and couldn't solve my font axle lift issue.

btw, any idea if I did the oil change/brake fluid flush outside the dealer, will that revoke my warranty. The dealer doesn't want to give a straight answer!!

I'd rather you did not take it because what we hear is that UAE dealers are pretty strict so you don't want to give them an excuse to revoke your warranty.

I think that it shoud be ok, as long as whoever does it uses the factory Mobil One oil and DOT brake fluid. Since it does not record in the DME, then they would have no way of knowing as long as it is done well. If it records in the DME, then you may have a problem, but I do not believe this is the case.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with Nabooda! I had many problems with them when I first got the car; that is why I only deal with Omar. He knows which mechanics to assign on my car and checks everything himself.

As long as you know the right people there, you won't get into trouble. They even sponsor our events.. I heard that some dealers in USA don't repair under warranty if it happened in the track. The questions is: Why the hell will I buy an 80% track car without driving on the track. Imagine buying a Nissan Patrol without driving off road.

How frequent do you change engine oil and flush brake fluid? or do you leave it till the next service interval and do all?

I wait until service is due, unless I have a soft break pedal at the track. It only happened once, in July when it was 40+ degrees outside. Keep in mind that services are done here at every 15,000 km instead of 20 or 30k intervals in the rest of the world, so we are already on the safe side.
