I have resisted putting nav and audio upgrade in my spec to keep weight down. Does anyone know what the weight difference is between the standard radio and the PCM system with the compulsory amp and speaker upgrade? If it was only a kilo or 2 I might change my spec, but I need to be quick!

While I completely give respect for speccing the most lightweight model possible, for me I always consider these cars roadcars first, and therefore would have trouble not speccing A/C or some kind of radio. If I were going all out I would probably buy a cheaper car and strip the hell out of it, but I get what you're going for. Congrats on the purchase either way.
Is that your 996 rs in your avatar? Love it.

I know what you mean, I have left the radio in and Bluetooth and iPod doc. it was just the nav, in truth it does not get used much, but it does make the car a nicer place to be on the road. If you didn't have to spec the additional amp I would have it. I may still change my mind, but need to do it real quick.
I have had my 996RS from new and love it, if this car makes me smile as much as that one has, i will be a happy man. I do have air in that car too, so am not looking to totally minimise the spec, just keep an eye on weight as that is part of what this car is all about.
