I hear you but you have also to appreciate that when u have been waiting ages and hoping for an rsr like car with your checkbook in your hand you might feel or sound a bit jaded when what you apparently get is not that much for the huge price hike

great it will be but in my view for this price it could have certainly been greater. Then again maybe we are not seeing the full picture..let's see tomorrow.

I am sure this 4.0 will be even better...
Does it justify that difference in price?
Well...I think it would be a neverending discussion...the same already seen around about the GT2 and GT2RS...

The most important thing about this 911 GT3 RS will be... it is the last and strongest factory built NA Porsche for road use, that was and will ever be built wih the Metzger engine... the 991 GT3 will have the new direct fuel injection engine...

the car is cool. i don't think it's worth the extra money for people have 3.8 RS to upgrade. i decided not to buy the 3.8 because of this car so at least i can have a choice. just waiting to see the final price. if it tops 210k with options, then like others have said, there are quite a few other good choices for different purpose.

I'll say it again: There are some jaded folks around here...
I think it's great these different versions are coming out. People forget how many little variations there were on the 911 line even back in the early '70s. Maybe not 25 versions like the 997, but certainly more than the one solitary version. Remember the T, L, E, S, RS?
Overall, I think Porsche's biggest mistake is that they DON'T offer a stripped down, lighter weight, base car to build from. You get all or all, with no opportunity for a decontented car. Regardless, I'd be plenty happy to have a 4-liter GT3 RS in my garage, no matter what color or stripes it has on it.

I don't understand why people would complain about this car either. So the car didn't live up to it's speculation. It was just speculation, and most of it is never true. Besides, this car has the 4.0 engine! What's not to love?

Let's say that what we know now about the car is going to be confirmed tomorrow.
I believe that the car is a missed opportunity. As some people have said, for the price differential, it would have been nice to see an RSR exhaust, irrespective of the noise. It would have been nice to see 18in monoblocks by BBS, used on the Cup cars, RSRs and even on the Hybrid racer. Furthermore, it would have been nice to see a different color - Chartreuse, Blutorange, Leichtgelb - any distinctive old color would do, even as an option.
The canards on the front apron are a joke - look at the ones on the Hybrid racer, or even the ones on the 918.
Again, repeating others, why not the Cup front fender extension?
Motorsport clutch packs in the LSD to increase longevity?
Cup final drive for even shorter gearing. All those changes are available off the shelf in Weissach. RSR crankshaft is the only distinctive part in the entire car. I am saddened by Porsche. Cayman R, Speedster, and now this. Disappointing.

I'd still take one of these over a 911 Sport Classic any day!
