When these "rare" cars are sitting on the lot, not spoken for, it's too many. As with all special editions, there are a finite number of consumers. The really passionate ones got their cars early, now the remainder are waiting for discounts. I realize your career is in Porsche sales, and thus always good to create demand, but it just isnt there. Weak economy + smaller target audience = lower sales. A beautiful white/red Gt3RS sat on lot here in Atlanta (5 million people with only 2 Porsche dealers in the entire state) for 2 months....and last i looked, there were 10+ on ebay, mostly dealer listings.

I think you guys are confusing two seperate issues.
Cars aren't RARE? You're kidding me, right? Put that in perspective would you.
Too many units? Even Porsche isn't perfect. They certainly put more of a strangle hold on the production levels of the RS compared to that of the MkI RS. End of the day they have a business to run.
And yeah, oh btw- there are far fewer RS's then E90 M3's or C63's and you could even argue the same point with F430's sitting on the lot.
Economy being "weak" (which I find hilarious on many levels but i do agree) and "RARE" are two seperate issues.
You want rare? Go see Mr. I bought a 997 Sport Classic. But he paid the piper for that car. -THAT car qualifies for Exclusive and Rare. Or the Spyker I just posted about. But even compared to a lot of other cars out in our market, the production levels of the MkII RS are SMALL. Just b/c a client may live in an area where the money apparently grows on tree's; and you just saw ANOTHER RS doesn't mean the car isn't rare. It means it's an affluent area. Period.
You guys cant complain about getting a 'deal' and 'exclusivity' in the same sentance. It doesn't compute. Sorry.
But your points are valid Bill and I concur. I'm just putting it all in perspective. (just look at MkI RS deliveries VS mkII RS deliveries.)

Porsche said 237 were being sold in the USA for this model, either 10's or 11's or whatever. Of that number some were held out for "heavy" people. I believe they will sell more than this number.
