Advice needed: 07' GT3 might become my DD, should I sell?

bonehead,
Don't get me wrong, you're a respected member here, but I think in this instance you are coming off like something of a dickhead
zedude,
There are plenty of reasonably price DDs out there, I'm sure you will find one. I have a 2001 Jeep GC as my work car. While I don't love it, it gets great gas mileage and has a V8. You can easily find them for under $10k. It's surprisingly quick as well, and you can do burn outs with ease...I know I'm a caveman

I stand by what I said. Keep the GT3 if and only if you can also afford a 'reasonable' (read: not a 100K mile Suzuki Samurai that's been in 4 rollovers) DD.

Not sure how anything I said was 'dickhead'-like, but alright. My apologies to the OP if you took offense as this was not my intent. Just trying to be a bit more practical. Easy to splurge money on luxuries but one has to look at the bigger picture. Is it okay for the peanut gallery to chime in and say "screw everything. Keep the GT3 but just don't eat every other day...". Come on. Sure, I could sell some $hit and buy a Carrera GT. Would I have absolutely no money in the bank and live paycheck to paycheck? Hell yes I would. Is that the right thing to do in the name of owning my dream car? Hopefully there's a consensus here on the right answer to that question.

I'm considering all options, including the yours. Where I sell the GT3 and buy something outright that leaves me with 0 payments.
Either way, no offense was taken and thanks for all the input guys

I don't know or want to know your financial situation but I would imagine you can sell a clean and lightly-albeit tastefully- modified GT3 for a little more than an average clean 07 Turbo. In that case, getting a single car that you can still have fun in and DD and get some extra coin is probably the best logistical move.
I would rather DD a Turbo than DD a POS and have a GT3 on the weekends. Makes the run of the mill day a little more fun.

Every member on TS is in a different situation... I'm no millionaire but the Gt3 does fall into my price range along with a DD. But because of certain circumstances, my DD needs to goto my Bro in Dallas so I'm in a bit of a predicament.
We shall see, maybe I'll end up with a RS4 like Chris suggested

Sorry, maybe I'm the dickhead. There are a number of valid reasons to prove this a) I work in the offshore drilling business b) I drive an M3 and c) I like pissing off hippies
dude, didn't even think about the fact that you may be making payments on the GT3, that sure does change things. Also, helping out a family member is something everyone has to deal with, props to you. Just in case you do decide to sell, hit me up. Meteor is by far my favorite 7.1 GT3 color and they are beginning to be tough to find.

Not really causing problems, just making me make shitty decisions

honestly, i think you should purchase something outright. payments are silly if you are using working capital. there will never be a shortage of GT3's, you can easily get one at a later date.
btw, that's very kind of you to help out your brother.

Meteor is my favorite color too I'll let you know if I'm dead set on getting rid of it, i'd love to see her goto a fellow TSer
