Keep the GT3, and maybe get a early-996 Carrera to dd?

 

Remember, thedude just had to get rid of his Mini Cooper S, so buying another car for $20k+ is probably not in the cards.......

I was actually considering that... but I really wouldn't be able to enjoy the GT3 from the beyond the grave. Considering the batshit crazy hookers and re-tards that grace the L.A. streets from day to day.

 

thedude: don't envy your position. Obviously try to keep the GT3 if at all possible. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm a bit confused as to how you can afford a GT3 yet not be able to get a cheap beater at the same time?? If the finances don't allow for a 'fun' car and a beater, perhaps you should reassess priorities??

 

I believe that's exactly what he's doing... But as we can all agree - letting go of a GT3 is a hard thing to do.

 

With all due respect, what part of owning a practical DD and having a dream car in the garage to be cherished, revered, cared for and driven on weekends would call for a re-assessment of priorities? In many ways, those who own extremely expensive DD's (who can barely afford them, and trust me, LA is full of people like that) and beat/depreciate them might want to think about reassessing priorities.

Ummm...none of it? But that's my point. I assume the OP cannot afford the dream car AND a practical DD. If that's the case, then I don't think a reassessment of financial priorities is unreasonable?? The fact that the average L.A. douche (not implying the OP is one of them) will drop a year's wages on a car and still live at home doesn't make it right.

Just sayin'.....

There are plenty of reasonably price DDs out there, I'm sure you will find one. I have a 2001 Jeep GC as my work car. While I don't love it, but it gets great gas mileage and has a V8. You can easily find them for under $10k. It's surprisingly quick as well, and you can do burn outs with ease...I know I'm a caveman
