Kasdorff is an unknown quantity at this point
There was an interesting quote by Rohrl in the June issue of TopGear about his Carrera GT and tires.

" The Porsche Carrera GT had handling like a race car, but there were big problems with the tyres. We never had a proper tyre for the car. I own one, and it is still on its first set..."

Sounds like he does not drive it much, but can't part with it! Wish I had more details on what characterisics he would have liked changed in the tires to change handling....

The way I see it here, TeamSpeed lust for cars goes like this

1) Carrera Gt , 2) Mclaren F1 , 3) F40, 4) 16M/Scud

Excited for you John, I'm sure you will just love it...

...and you're right, Kuzi is definitely a bad (good ?) influence...it all begins with an innocent phone call, "what do you think about _____?", the seed gets planted and he sits back and chuckles as you endure restless nights, countless ppi's...

Slicks? I wonder how they would feel on car like CGT, sure do look badass though.

*Damon lights his pipe....*

I think of this discussion on context.

Can we all agree the PS2 is a fabulous tire? Absolutely.

Is it good enough for GT3's and the turbo? Absolutely.

Is it good enough for the CGT under 90% of the driving people will actually do? Absolutely.

Given the power of the car, is there really any DOT approved tire made that will honestly do a better job if it's pushed. Probably not.

It's like sticking turbos on a Gallardo or a GT. The biggest problem keeping the car on the ground is tires - any tires. Rubber compounds and construction have come a long way. BUT, engine and suspension performance has gone beyond a street tires ability to stick if pushed.

My suspicion is that if the CGT came with Bridgestones, people would be complaining about Bridgestones, or Yokohamas, or Dunlops......

Bottom line is the CGT is a top shelf car, and the PS2 was the best tire on the market at the time. And, still is in many regards.

I can already tell you that the CGT on slicks is one of the coolest...and most scary experiences available on this earth. FWIW, my hot-rodded cup car is about 5 times as stable feeling as that amazing bastard son of god (order sohn uhf got... lohl) wearing the same exact tires. My suggestion in all honesty would just be have a nice set of NON magnesium 19 in hre wheels made for you and damon can hook you up with a better option...like the pirelli corsas or bridgestone reo1r or whatever they call it now.

i think we already or are buying all the pzeros u have in stock, because the consensus is that the CGT owners dont like it with PS2s. Im told its squirmy and dont stick, plus wears out in 3k mountain driving, no track.
i noticed there are more tires if u go down to 19s, but i dont think anyone wants to do that just yet.
