2 Different cars. Really. The question is why should he chose one over the other? Both are highly unique, but uniquely Porsche.
The 918 he should be blessed to be able to buy. This car will be a very short run, and if he, or you can- he SHOULD buy one. At the very least, he could get over what he paid for it if he didn't like it.
2ndly; what does the GT2RS have that appeals to him? The car will be more than a handful to own. Amatures need not apply.
Regardless- if he can, get both. Both are as VERY different.

It's a strange poll. Who knows if they will make the 918.
They will make the gt2rs and Guys you are all Huffing paint if you Think Porsche will only make it once. Give me a break. Porsche will make it over and over and over again until people stop paying full price and lose interest
Porsche had about 1000-1500 interested in the 918 when introduced and I would bet that number is 1/3rd now with close to a 7 figure price tag. Why buy a car for that kind of dough when you can get 5 or 6 awesome cars for that price. Porsche needs to re think and re price this 918 to sell them.
Veyron has sold about 350 copies in a 5 year run at 1.5 million. They also did a study and figured that only 6000 people ( six thousand yes that's correct ) could actually afford the car in the world. So I wonder what the actual figure is for a 1 million dollar Porsche. Possibly 20,000 people in the world can. Do we really think that 1 in 20 will want one? No way. $500k this 918 sells close to 1500 copies. 900k-1 million not even close.
I'd take a 918 over a gt2rs 8 days a week and all 416 days a year.
The car is great looking. I hope they make it and at 7 figures I hope to see one someday but never in my garage.
