No rush, I'm only planning to take the car home at the end of the year. The only place I can store it is at the coast and it is going to be renovated for the next 4 months.
@Nicke: You pay taxes the moment it enters the country. You get taxed on the value of the item from place of origin regardless if you register or not. To register is a nominal fee.

I assume there is a stupid premium for this car (obviously). Why would you pay that it you were going to drive that $$$ away the first time you take it for a long cruise? You could just get a CGT with 1k miles on it and not give a fvck (and it would probably be up to date with maintenance, etc). I agree with the drive mentality when the car is low mileage. Why someone doesn't drive their f430 and just puts on 500 miles a year is different than this. This car doesn't have a few hundred, it has 10. That, IMO, is a whole different ball game.

Just saying, it sucks about your taxes. Need me to come watch over your "coast cars" so the contractors don't mess around with them??

Congrats Mike and I agree with Hoskier, drive like you stole it! why buy a car just so you can look at it and call it a masterpiece? Cars were never made to be art pieces like paintings unless no more than 1 would be made thus the saying one of a kind. What an absolute gem though and enjoy in good health

I throw up in my mouth every time I read this You do know that when adjusted for inflation taxes were higher during Reagan's presidency and Obama is returning the tax rate to what they were during Clinton's administration. Listening to you, you make it sound like it the gap between the haves and the have nots didn't grow during that era
ohhh maybe it should continue unabated like it has 700%...
"...Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H.L. Hunt...and a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
