997.2 GT2 RS launched in Leipzig

I don't think it will be a future legend. It's not unique enough. It looks just like the 997.1 GT2 and some pieces of CF here and there don't really make much difference. Sure it's a beast but imo it takes more than that, Porsche is basically spitting out these kind of special race versions of the 997.
Roadgoing legends from Porsche imo are 2.7 RS, 959, GT1 and CGT. The next one will be the 918 Spyder.

You mention the 2.7RS, but beyond the first 500 homologation cars, the rest started out as bodies that would've become 1973 911Ts. Not much unique about that.

I think not thinking this car will be a future legend means we're all a little too spoiled or jaded. Or BOTH.
This concept of the GT2RS is just an earth smashing machine. Amateur's need not apply. The fact that so few will possess, let alone actually be able to drive this machine to a point of not looking like a complete 'tard' will place this car in a very special group indeed.
While not 'really' different looking, when has ANY 911, in that specific Gen, really looked completely different then the rest of that gene pool?
Never. It's should always be easily recognizable as a - 911.
You want different? Stick with another car. You want the Darth Vader of all 911's?
You own a GT2RS.

Just as the 993 Turbo/GT2 was the last hurrah of the air-cooled 6/Turbo, so might the 997GT2RS be the swan song of the Mezger GT1 block-that is, unless Pieech decides that the engine is still too successful to completely jettison....
